A 43-storey high-rise located in Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle, Verticas Residensi is at the heart of the bustling metropolis. A rare gem, nearby, the only remaining forest reserve in the city, residents find themselves close to nature in an urban setting. Fitting with the surrounding environment, an urban, modern home for our clients was created, as the couple’s very own escape from the hectic city life. The existing layout of the condominium unit is a dual-key concept, the couple decided to combine them to form one whole home setting for more augmented personal usage. The entire design focused on bringing out a calming and serene atmosphere that puts one at ease upon entering. Our team limited the color tones and materials to earthy and natural shades along with wood, stone, and cement elements, while sleek and straight forms were used in furniture and built-in structures for a clean look. The timber feature wall that served as storage and display became a center messing of the space which carry from the entrance towards the end of the corridor. To incorporate greater permeability between spaces, the walls of the kitchen and study room were opened up into large, ceiling-to-floor glass. Our clients gave significant attention in bringing to life a home office that would inspire them to work and get creative and simultaneously acting as a cozy and comforting space where they could spend time together as a couple. Besides a work desk and storage shelves, a reading corner and memorabilia wall to commemorate the couple’s travels together was embodied into the space. The bay window overlooking the cityscape introduced ample natural lighting into the space, perfect for maximized focus on the day and quiet moments in the evening.
