Consisting of a basement, first and second floor, this project in Stramax Residences, is a leisurely home where the family comes together as one. The backdrop of the home is a plain and clean one, with a general colour of desaturated off-white on the ceilings and walls. The simplicity of the surroundings is accompanied by a similar colour palette of various shades of grey and beige in the other fixtures and furniture. The seemingly plain spaces are however, accented by a variety of patterns, textures and materials, as well as through feature pieces and bespoke loose furniture that can be seen all around the house. The elegant tray ceilings of the living room and kitchen, the natural flow of the wardrobe and work desk as well as the sleek looking TV panel and master bedroom bed head; showcase the thoughtful use of subtle curves to add distinctiveness to the entire house. The design is further enhanced through the combination of marble and wood used extensively in many feature pieces. The calm but raw nature of wood is complemented by the strong but sophisticated look of the marble in the TV panel and the console table. Despite giving off opposite feelings, they blend amicably from one to the other in the bed head of the master bedroom. The use of repetitive but opposing patterns in the feature pieces of each space is also another element of embellishment to the simple design. The design of the TV panel and the bed head feature wood aligned vertically one after the other, while at the same time horizontally aligned window blinds are also used in those spaces. This play in patterns is seen even in the tiniest of details, such as the opposing direction of the grain of the wood on the top and bottom half of the storage cabinets in the kitchen and the family room. Finally, the use of bespoke loose furniture such as tables and lamps, truly add a unique touch to the house. A house becomes a home, when under one roof, unique personalities come together. Considerate detailing of each aspect allowed this simple design to become a harmonious home.
